NW GWEC was honored to have two late-breaking abstracts centered on rural and age-friendly education accepted as poster presentations at the Gerontological Society of America’s (GSA) Annual Scientific Conference in Boston, MA.

The 2025 GWEP-CC Preconference at the Gerontological Society of America’s (GSA) annual scientific meeting brought together leaders in geriatrics education, innovation, and workforce development for a full day of learning, collaboration, and celebration.

A new study—co-authored by Breanne Swanson, MS, and grounded in her early work as a Primary Care Liaison—highlights how partnerships between primary care clinics and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) can connect older adults with essential social supports such as transportation, nutrition, housing, and social connection. These supports are crucial to overall health and the ability to age in place.
