Area Agency on Aging Practicum Modules
Learning Objectives

Describe the structure and key components of the Aging Network, including the roles of the Older American’s Act, Administration for Community Living (ACL), Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs), and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs).

Explain the mission, functions, and services provided by Area Agencies on Aging, including case management, caregiver support, nutrition programs, and care coordination.

Analyze how AAAs support older adults in maintaining independence and aging in place, and how their programs intersect with healthcare and community-based services.

Identify and describe key evidence-based health promotion and disease prevention programs supported by AAAs, and assess their effectiveness in improving health outcomes for older adults.

Identify opportunities for clinical linkages with AAAs to address the social determinants of health and improve outcomes for older adults and their caregivers.
Modules
Each of the 7 modules are less than 16 minutes for a total of 90 minutes of asynchronous work. You may finish watching them all in one sitting or over several days. Video content was developed by the Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington and Southeast Washington Aging & Long Term Care, in partnership with the Northwest Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Center.
