Building Dementia-Friendly Communities Together
The Collaborating for a Dementia-Friendly Washington: Building Momentum conference brought together leaders, advocates, and care professionals from across the state — including many from our Area Agency on Aging (AAA) network — to share innovative ways to support people living with dementia and their care partners.
It was amazing to learn first-hand what our partners are achieving with programs like Memory Cafés, dementia-friendly transportation initiatives, and culturally tailored community models that celebrate inclusion and connection. These efforts highlight the powerful role of local partnerships — particularly AAAs — in building communities where every person affected by dementia can thrive.
Through collaboration, education, and creativity, we’re continuing to make Washington a place where living well with dementia is possible everywhere.
