The Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Washington has been awarded a Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). As announced by President Barack Obama at the July 2015 White House Conference on Aging, HHS has awarded $37.5 million to 44 organizations around the country to improve care of older adults under this new grant mechanism. The award to the UW is a three-year, $2.5 million cooperative agreement to establish the Northwest Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Center (NW GWEC).

Director, NW Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Center
The Northwest Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Center (NW GWEC) is an interdisciplinary center at the University of Washington dedicated to meeting the need for increased geriatrics expertise to improve the care of older adults. The NW GWEC’s mission is to lead the Pacific Northwest in optimizing primary care of older adults through collaborative education, traineeships, client engagement, and enhanced community-clinical linkages. Our programs have been established to support older adults, their families, and caregivers, particularly in the face of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
The NW GWEC partner organizations — the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Aging and Disability Services of Seattle/King County, Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities in Southwest Washington, and Qualis Health — share our vision for older adults to be personally engaged and positively supported by families, caregivers, their primary care providers, and their community to maintain their health and well-being. Fundamental values guide our work: collaboration, client engagement, and equity to improve health and reduce disparities among older adults.

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
…or something like this:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
